Abstract

As resource optimization and QoS trade-offs are central requirements of wireless streaming systems, the need for a resource management framework to support alternative multi-objective optimization strategies as well as to handle different application-level adaptation policies has become critical, and has already received extensive focus from the research community. In this paper, after we examine various available systems and/or frameworks for QoS-aware recourse optimizations, we propose a simple, implementation oriented framework for such systems, in the form of a set of simple objects and APIs, which can be used to abstract specific technology decisions during the realization of such systems.
