Abstract

Software architectures for adaptive software systems should be flexible enough to allow components to change their behavior, even at runtime, depending on the environmental changes and goals of the system and changes in stakeholders' objectives. Evaluating the adaptability at the software architecture level, i.e. before system implementation, to identify the weakness of the architecture and further improve the architecture based on adaptability is the most important issue for software professionals today. Our contribution is the Adaptability Evaluation Method (AEM). In this paper we introduce AEM and validate it with a real-world wireless environment controlling system.
