Abstract

Web caching and prefetching play an important role in improving the performance of Web access in wireless environment. In this paper, we present a compact set of algorithms for integrating web caching and prefetching for wireless local area network, including sequence-mining based prediction algorithm, context-aware prefetching algorithm and profit-driven caching replacement policy, and then implement them in Web caching system OnceEasyCache. We also evaluate this integrated scheme by conducting the trace-based experiments on the OnceEasyCache system.
