Abstract

Popular search engines, like Google or Yahoo!, provide good results based on Information Retrieval theories. Nevertheless, they are not context-specific and offer limited efficiency in areas like online learning. This paper proposes a brokerage system for e-learning that overcomes some of the drawbacks found in current portals offering generic access to online courses. The use of available Learning Technology (LT) standards and underlying semantic support provides better personalization and use of context-specific information. Thus, location of suitable online courses is improved over the current situation.
