Abstract

Among the existing Web resources, there is an exponentially increase need of content retrieval and manipulation, and this has caused the demand for Semantic Web. With the evolutions of Internet development and international standards, multimedia learning assets could be exploited from WWW and be described as an ontology for high durability, reusability and portability of educational contents. In this paper we present our approach to the design of service-oriented architecture which adheres to the e- Learning and Semantic Web standards in an attempt to cater for the repository of multimedia learning objects, keeping a storage of the contexts among them and allowing their retrieval and manipulation. We also present our prototype example of implementation to prove the feasibility of our proposed framework.
