Abstract

In this paper, we discuss collaborative, context- aware applications for vehicular ad-hoc networks(VANETs). Inter-networked cars exchange informationabout sensor data in order to increase traffic safety.This infrastructure can also be used for personalizedinformation services for drivers. We outline possibleapplications and give more detailed information on acontext-aware gas station recommender we arecurrently implementing within the VANETinfrastructure of the Network-on-Wheels project.
