In this paper, we have suggested a methodology for formalizing some of the commonly used UML diagrams that are used in different phases of software development in Z notation, establish their relationship and then represent the "formalized" diagrams along with their inter-relationship visually using an Entity-Relationship diagram. Implementation of our approach would bridge the gap between a formal language and UML that has become a de-facto standard for modeling object-oriented systems. Development of a tool based on this approach will produce a visual representation of formalized UML diagrams and their relationship, from which automated traceability and consistency verification among the diagrams can be achieved
