Abstract

Business Intelligence (BI) is not a product that one can buy off the shelf. It is a goal that is achieved when the different information consumers within an organization are able to leverage vast amounts of data that are collected and created to improve business performance. The Return of Investment (ROI) for BI depends on how the Information Value Chain (IVC) is implemented and managed. Author's tenet is that the more efficiently the IVC is implemented, the better are the chances of maximizing the BI ROI.
