Abstract

Since the nodes in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are typically very small in size and are powered by irreplaceable battery, efficient use of energy becomes one of the most challenging tasks while designing any protocol for WSN. In this paper, we propose a routing protocol named Reliable and Energy Efficient Protocol (REEP) for WSN. The performance of REEP has been evaluated with the help of simulations by considering different scenarios. REEP shows better performance compared to a popular data-centric routing protocol for WSN.
