Abstract

This paper proposes the creation of a Software Engineering Group tasked with the leadership and supervision of important duties that have a propensity to be unnoticed or else inadequately communicated to students. It discusses the current issues facing faculty and students involved in software engineering projects and outlines plans for establishing the group, defines its responsibilities, and proposes ways to assess its effectiveness. It is thought that this group will provide vast knowledge and expertise in designing and developing code for small, medium, large, and complex software systems, and enhance technological, scientific, and managerial facets of the software engineering process.
