Abstract

In ad hoc mobile networks, communication management is done by the devices themselves (nodes) in an autonomous way. Forwarding of packets is an essential service done by the nodes to the maintenance of the network's connectivity. However, forwarding a packet demands energy, a scarce resource in a mobile device. This work presents an autonomous strategy of incentivating the cooperation in ad hoc networks based in credits and reputation. As incentivate, the nodes that forwards packets, receive credits that are used to send own packets with a better Quality of Service (QoS). The strategy uses only local information and there is no need of a central station to manage incentive application.
