Abstract

This paper focuses on Media Independent Handover (MIH) issue for two future mobile communication networks, WiMAX and 3G-LTE/SAE. The IEEE 802.21 MIH protocol structure has been investigated such that the messages and primitives to enable interoperable operations in MIH functions (MIHFs) could be compared to the WiMAX and 3G-LTE/SAE protocol.
