Abstract

This paper addresses the problems of modeling and verification of complex industrial production lines. The paper proposes a methodology for building business models, organized on layers of increasing complexity, from production line elementary machines and sensors to complex business workflows. The resulted models could be translated and executed by any workflow execution engine. For workflow verification purposes, the model is represented in Process Algebra which allows the verification of the correctness of the business process model and the identification of logical faults since the model design phase. The proposed methodology was used for modeling and verification of a sausage processing line developed in the context of Food Trace [3] research project.
