Abstract

In the paper is presented a new method for efficient compression of still images, based on the Inverse Difference Pyramid (IDP) decomposition. A special version of the method is developed for the lossless compression of graphics and texts. The method is aimed at secure and flexible transfer of information via Internet. It permits the insertion of multiple digital watermarks in the image phase domain together with efficient data hiding. The method offers flexible approach for image contents protection and data hiding.
