Abstract

This paper introduces a new pre-detect template-matching algorithm. We first project the gray level of each pixel onto a linear axis. We then filter out certain unsuccessful cases before using two-dimensional template matching for further recognition. Experimental results demonstrate improved efficiency of our proposed algorithm.
