This paper discuss a Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAR) for signal of novel Wavelet based Filtered Multi-Tone (WFMT) modulation. A Wavelet based Filtered Multi-Tone (WFMT) modulation was developed as alternative line code for xDSL system and represent future extending of OFDM/ DMT technologies. Because of multicarrier nature of WFMT modulation, it is good suited to carry high-speed data over wide frequency band. The major drawback of multicarrier system is the large PAR of the transmit signal, which renders a straightforward implementation costly and inefficient. In this paper, we examine PAR of WFMT line code. A simple expression for PAR is developed, as for circular so for square constellation diagram of QAM modulator. The results illustrate a significant less Peak-to-Average Power Ratio of the WFMT transmit signal versus PAR in OFDM system.
