The widespread distribution and availability of small-scale sensors, actuators, and embedded processors is transforming the physical world into a computing platform. Wireless ad-hoc sensor networks are being developed and explored at a rapid rate by the research community around the world. Much work has focused on the development of energy efficient routing algorithms, as well as hardware designs. This paper addresses the problems of data fusion when interfacing the sensor network to the grid computing. Issues to deal with such integration are briefly discussed.
