The published newspaper is the net of the integrated accumulative work of a group of people. This paper addresses the issue of modelling the workflow in the editorial process of a newspaper organization, in preparation for the implementation of a Computer Supported Collaborative Work (CSCW) system. The editorial process is studied in every detail and interesting conclusions are drawn, concerning the opportunities offered by the introduction of a CSCW system in the editorial process.
