Abstract

Mobile continuous monitoring systems start to grow in every modern army. They are also known as UAV (Unmanned Air Vehicle) and probably in few years almost every army will be equipped with UAVs. The goal of this paper is to present an algorithm that compress images captured from the UAV and transmitted to the ground. This paper focuses on the image compression algorithm presenting simple techniques that can be combined for a high compression ratio, with low resources and a good quality.
