Abstract

This paper proposes a hierarchical system of three adaptive fuzzy filters into the RAKE receiver to estimate the channel coefficients in a downlink multipath fading CDMA channel. The simplest filter is proved to be equivalent with the alpha tracker. In tested circumstances (Rayleigh fading with AWGN) the two simpler filters proved to be most useful. The nested nature of the filters makes it possible to construct a 'hybrid' filter according to the situation.
