In this paper we present an automatic and fast method for the detection of anatomical point landmarks. The method is based on fuzzy systems. Different techniques are used to extract information about the problem: tensor analysis of the image, multiscale analysis and distance measurements. Fuzzy logic is introduced to combine the information extracted with these techniques and discriminate between real anatomical point landmarks and false detections. The proposed method has been successfully applied to accurately detect the typical anatomical point landmarks in midsagittal Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of the brain.
