Abstract

This article presents DelayEDD-HCCA and RT-HCCA, two extensions based on the centralized access method of the IEEE 802.11e, HCCA supporting real-time applications. They show very good performances in terms of capacity and delays. Properties of the proposed extensions are investigated both theoretically and using J-SIM simulations. The obtained results prove that the proposed extensions succeed in guaranteeing delay bounds required by audio applications.
