Abstract

In this paper, we propose a novel method based on fuzzy correlation analysis to multicategorization of text documents. A fuzzy correlation analysis which can show the strength of linear relationship between two fuzzy attributes, and the direction of the relationship, is used to measure the strengths of relationships between text documents and the predefined categories. According to the properties of fuzzy correlation coefficient, and by using significance test, we can tell the categories with significantly positive relationship to a text document, and determine which categories to be assigned to a text document.
