Abstract

The general system often depends on the flooding or multicast mechanism to discovery services on network, which mechanism usually results in large overhead. It will be a serious problem in mobile ad-hoc networks, where the bandwidth is limited and each node moves arbitrarily and acts not only as a host but also as a router. Therefore, it will greatly rely on the flooding or multicast mechanism to discovery the services. This work presents service discovery based on anycasting in mobile ad-hoc networks. The scheme can be used to reduce the search request messages, and decrease the overhead of reply received from duplicate services message.
