Abstract

The imperative need of older people to lead a more independent life in their familiar environment can not be addressed only by the vast progress of the information and communication technologies but also modeling efforts are needed that take into serious account these specific needs. In this paper, we describe our approach concerning the conceptual design of a service oriented programmable smart system that integrates assistive environments for the elderly. Specifically, we present the role of the conceptual model emphasizing at its respective meta-model, while we document the design and development of the conceptual model authoring environment for enabling the scenario modeling of the ambient assistive living application domain.
