Abstract

Data mining is the automated analysis of large volumes of data and looking for relationships and knowledge that are implicit in this data. Data mining and knowledge discovery in large amounts of data can benefit from the use of parallel and distributed computational environments to improve both performance and quality of data selection. So, mining data from distributed sites, which is called distributed data mining (DDM), becoming increasingly essential. It explores techniques of how to apply Data Mining in a non-centralized way. The current study on DDM is mainly focused on two aspects. One is the architecture of DDM, and the other is the algorithm of DDM. In this proposal, we introduce a prototype which implements DDM algorithms in a service-based architecture by utilizing the JDM -- Java Data Mining.
