"Grid Computing" has emerged as an important new field, distinguished from conventional distributed computing by its focus on large-scale resource sharing, innovative applications, and in some cases high-performance orientation. This article is intended for readers who already know web services technology. In this article which is an informative in nature, a brief introduction of grid computing has been discussed. Next, web services have been introduced from which grid services technology is abstracted. Thereafter, grid services forms such as Open Grid Services Architecture (OGSA), Open Grid Services Infrastructure (OGSI) and Globus GT3 an Open source grid software toolkit have been taken into account. Finally, a new economical architecture layer for Grid resources discovery is proposed for resource discovery in grid computing.
