Abstract

Modeling and simulation becomes crucial in analyzing dynamic system behavior. Many formalisms and methods are introduced in order to improve this process. The effort is twofold; a) reach more realistic models and results, b) obtain "simplified, flexible" models. Efforts are conducted to adapt formalisms to several domains and features. In our work, we are interested in the structure variability especially in DEVS modeling formalism. Structure variability allows models to be adapted to different situations along simulation. We proposed a dynamic hierarchical structure modeling approach and the corresponding algorithm based on the abstract simulator. This paper presents an implementation in an M&S environment.
