Abstract

The paper analyses a railway vehicle dynamics by considering the vertical accelerations of the axle, bogie and coach body or three orthogonal coach body accelerations measured simultaneously on the last carriage of a passenger train. The time histories of dynamic wheel-rail contact force are obtained approximately from a model of an oscillating system with three masses. Also there can be estimated the spectral power density of the accelerations determined by the measurements and the power spectral density of the rail vertical irregularities by theoretical and experimental way. The results of this paper are obtained by processing with LABView program the recorded vibration signals for a railway car and provide information concerning the passenger's comfort level in comparison with the ISO 2631 curves of equal comfort.
