Abstract

In this paper is discussed the application of neural networks for time series forecasting. This was illustrated with a single hidden layer feed - forward network, which is the most widely used neural network for forecasting. Short-term load forecasts are required for the control and scheduling of power systems. The focus varies from minutes to several hours ahead.
