Abstract

This paper describes an ideal Ada math library for use in embedded, real-time avionics, and a library implementation based on this model for a "standard" military avionics processor. The special requirements and implementation considerations for avionics applications are discussed, and the design and specification of an Ada math library closely matching these stringent requirements is put forward. Evaluation procedures are briefly discussed, including new techniques for accuracy testing without requiring higher precision.
