Abstract

In this paper we introduce concepts in order to enhance the resolution of autostereoscopic displays for performing routine tasks. Our Sim2D3Dtechnique presented earlier allows users to work with any 2D or 3D application in an autostereoscopic desktop environment. We have conducted a user study to investigate the impact of this technique on routine tasks performed using autostereoscopic displays. The problems identified in this user study led us to further improve the design of autostereoscopic user interfaces by increasing the effective resolution for context areas.
