The model management operator ModelGentranslates a schema expressed in one modelling language into an equivalent schema expressed in another modelling language, and in addition produces a mapping between those two schemas. This paper presents an implementation of ModelGenwhich in addition allows for the translation of data instances from the source to the target schema, and vice versa. The translation mechanism is distinctive from others in that it takes a generic approach that can be applied to any modelling language.
