The purpose of this study is to understand how willing consumers are in terms of using the FON platform to share their bandwidth. Based on the recommendations by Homans (1958), Blau (1964), and Emersons (1972),"social exchange theory" and Blau (1964), "economic exchange theory" and "Innovation Diffusion Theory" were adopted as the basis for the discussion on the willingness of consumers using FON. Relevant literatures were also utilized for us to determine the possible factors that might be influential, including power, trust, expected reward, social exchange relationship, and relative advantage. We discuss the factors that influence their willingness of sharing and the relationship between the "attitude towards resource sharing" and the "behavior of resource sharing."
