Key management in wireless sensor networks (WSN) is a challenging problem because of the limited resources of sensor nodes and their vulnerability against physical attacks. In this paper, we present a Two Level Architecture key management scheme for wireless sensor networks (TLA). Our scheme combines efficiently different key management techniques in each architecture level. This combination gives TLA good performances in terms of key storage overhead as well as in terms of resistance degree against node capture. We compared TLA with most other proposed schemes and showed that, in most cases, our scheme gives the best overall performances.
