Abstract

This paper describes the initial stages in the development of a framework for browsing the current Web as a remapped semantic model in 3d space, building up an interactive universe of objects using a mixture of graphics, animation, stereo sound and, possibly, artificial intelligence components as multiple pages are fetched from a conventional visual web-site. The initial purpose of the research is to explore the formalities of this remapping of real web sites and the definition of the graphical objects with appearances, behaviours and reactions to internal and external events. The longer term objective is to be a platform for Semantic Web experiments, graphic design and human factor research and as an easily-installed semantic extension of normal page-by-page browsing for both mobile and immersive platforms.
