Abstract

The design of a system for recognition of patterns or objects with provision for size and. rotation invariance will be described. This system is also self-learning in that a program of remembering a pattern by "seeing" that pattern is incorporated in the system. The process of "free learning" which is defined here as abstracting from the results of numerous inputs and outputs to arrive at a more general recognition class is also part of our design. We shall first briefly describe the properties incorporated in our design, and then outline the system.
