Abstract

This paper seeks to investigate the application of mathematical programming, considering it as a tool for optimal electrical power generation and management. Nowadays, observing signals of crisis in various countries, electrical power emerges not only as a commodity but as a valuable, renewable and sometimes rare resource. Modeling and studying electrical power systems with application of mathematical programming can produce alternatives for optimal management of resources and allow better consumer satisfaction, impacting positively as a typical marketing indicator.
