Abstract

Increasing interest in management information systems had led to much activity in developing techniques and software for data management. Virtually all of the attention has been focused on the specific needs of commerce. Elaborate data structures have been developed for accessing the same information via many different attributes and considerable attention has been given to the acquisition of data from multiple terminals operated by unskilled clerks.
