Abstract

Ad hoc networks are usually thought to be self-operating. Especially, they are not expected to need much management. This is not quite true: while the management system can be light, all networks need a management system if they are to stay operational for some time. This paper describes a network management solution to a military ad hoc network, but similar approaches could be applied also in non-military networks for distributing wireless services.
