Abstract

Granular Computing is an emerging technology. Thispaper summarizes its applications to the web. A high frequentco-occurring ordered set of keywords is called a keywordset;it represents some concept in the given documentset. These concepts forms a simplicial complex of concepts, which is regarded as a knowledge base for a new search engine. The return of a query will be organized ino meaningfulclusters. A fundamental difference of this approach from semanticweb is that the search engine carries the semantic ofa website, instead of the website has to be organized in thesense of semantic web, namely, the semantics is machinereadable.
