In this paper, we study the cooperative communications inwireless systems with ns source nodes, nrrelay nodes and single destination node. We propose cooperativeprotocols and analyse the system performance of the cooperationsystems. For ns = 1, nr 1, the nodescooperate in a repetition way. The impact of the detection error atthe relay node on the system performance is analysed, and then arelay selection protocol is proposed to compensate for such effect. For nr 1, ns 1, we propose acooperative coding protocol, in which the relay nodes not onlydecode and forward the symbols from the source nodes, but alsoencode the incoming symbols according to the pre-assignedcooperative code. This brings higher efficiency and flexibilitycompared with the repetition-coded cooperation system with singlesource node. The analysis and the simulation results demonstratethat the proposed system achieves full diversity order.
