Abstract

Evolutionary Computation (EC) is a vibrant area of investigation, with some of the least widely known approaches being Ant Colony Optimisation, Particle Swarm Optimisation and Bees Algorithm, all of which can be used in optimisation problems. This paper makes a comparison of the effectiveness of the three methods on a particular optimisation problem, namely the tuning of the parameters for a PID controller.
