Abstract

Determining the appropriate line speed is one of many critical success factors in the design of teleprocessing systems. This paper integrates queuing formula into a comprehensive model to support line speed decisions. The model includes response time, message lengths and volumes, and computer processing speeds in a manner not previously described in the literatures.
