Abstract

The paper is a study of reliability for turbo decoder. To improve the weakness of reliability assignment using metric values directly, the reliability values of the survivor paths are trace back by an updating process at different time values. It is also analyzed the influence of channel reliability factor on performance of the iterative turbo decoder over a Gaussian channel. The simulations are done for a Parallel Concatenated Convolutional Codes (PCCC) system with MAP and SOVA decoding algorithms.
