Abstract

It is well-known that the knowledge of a group is not the sameas the union of knowledge states of the group members. Let'sconsider several two examples. If an agent A knows that a b and if an agent B knows that b c for some real numbers variables a , b and c , then together these agents know not only a b and b c , but also a c . If, in another case, A knows that a ≥b and B knows that b ≥ a thentogether they know also that a = b . One can thenstate that the power of the collective knowledge exists owing tothe inconsistency of knowledge of its members.
