Driven by the difficult business environment, nowadays enterprises more and more resort to information technology to manage nearly everything internal and to conduct business activities. This puts forward high requirements on information systems and in turn, raises a great challenge to software vendors. In this paper, an enterprise information infrastructure (EII), which delivers some common functions to management and business, is proposed for software vendors to rapidly develop various enterprise information systems while at a cost as low as possible. The paper details the philosophy behind EII and explains its approaches to integration, automation and business agility. A scenario is also presented illustrating the usage of EII.
