We present our findings of an empirical performance comparison between dynamic source routing and greedy routing in a testbed wireless sensor network deployment. The environment is based on a grid ranging between 2 ×2 to 7 ×7 battery operated Tmote Sky sensor nodes. We briefly sketch the protocol implementations and the experimental setup used in this work. We also discuss how we managed such larger set of nodes in a convenient way. We hope that some of the lessons we learnt may be useful to others doing such kind of testbed experiments as well. Finally, we discuss our findings from the measurement data we have gathered.
