The polarized antenna is widely used in modern cellular installations as it reduces spacing needs and tower loads on BSs. In this paper, polarization diversity and space diversity performance under 3GPP channel model is evaluated through simulation. Polarization diversity was found to be more significant than spatial diversity at improving diversity gain, and hence MIMO system capacity.
