Cross Layer Communication has become an active theme in wireless ad-hoc network design. This paper deals with the communication between Network and Application layers using direct call methodology bypassing partially the transport layer. The focus here is to study overall performance by this communication on the wireless networks which can be done by setting the various parameters across Physical layer, MAC layer and Network layer. The improvement is observed in throughput, average end to end delay and longest time in queue. The simulation incorporating variable nodes, flexible data rates, variation in power and different queue sizes. Results are leading to the visible enhancement in the key performance of wireless ad-hoc network.
